Like it or not - G+photos is morphing into Google Photos. Lots of things about this are going to require us to change the way we've been using this platform. Change always comes at a cost but inevitably, it always does come. At least some of the changes will be worthwhile and hopefully soon, we will wonder how we plussed without them.

  1. Do you think status updates will be eliminated?

  2. I think that our photos will be completely separate from our g+ accts. We can share them to our peeps and circles and then comment and plus and such like any other link. The photos themselves though will be in a different environment. Kind of like our youtube videos are in a different place,

  3. Lisa Childs googlegram ???
Oh - ha! I just got it.
Um, I guess, I never did instagram tho to be honest. I skip a lot of things due to the close proximity of evil (AKA Zuckerberg et al)

  5. Exactly. People were moaning and groaning about Collections. I think they're the greatest thing G+ has done thus far.

I'm not crazy about the changes to Photos, but I can't change it, so no sense bellyaching. Make the best of what's good about it. Adapt to what you don't like. (Or shut up and move on... like I did with Adobe CC. Yeah, I bellyached rather loudly about that one, but their tech took a huge bite outta my computer. That was personal.)

  6. I doubt at this point it will effect me....my family stays on Facebook thankfully and I share family stuff I want them to know there....the key that caught my eye was people with the link can view and download...if you have no choice about the download that's a no go...people that steal images will have to do with low resolution screen captures...I have generally sent copies email to the few that have asked for them but grant no one that without asking first...it's why my images I allow under creative commons are on Deviant Art...they allow a choice...and it's why I don't have allow downloads here...there is typical style no choice but all or nothing.  All this being said I think that Google does most things well for me to come here and participate on levels I can agree with...just some things I will embrace and some I will not use at the present...I say that because like our weather it is subject to change at a moment...there may be something hiding now or in the future that answers a need.  The break up into sections is good for the company I think...separate teams and separate leadership might make them more responsive which most agree is not their long suit.  The tools they talk of if like the last ones...you have to allow them to build books and create with your work or you don't get to play with them...I don't figure to use....hopefully this will be isolated from Drive and I can post from there without interference...but if not the links I post may be from Flickr or Facebook...I am adaptable there's (Drive) is just the best and easiest right now...my full size already go to Flickr and the 1T free storage...I reduce size here...the 1T they gave me here expires but that over yonder doesn't meaning I can only trust Drive with 15 G if I really want storage without paying or risk it all being lost...or upload at minimal size

  7. I use an external hard drive for storage. I like having my pictures stored offline. I don't know about their link system, because let's say I make a video unlisted and anyone with a link can view, it is simply not true. It basically means, no one can view it, regardless of having a link. I am going to go with the flow here. I will move with the changes of gp. My family is on facebook and I check there for family photos, but my heart is with Gooooogle.

  8. ted kelly the only reason I am on instagram was 1. my friend was on it. 2. I wanted to see if I could affectively use it for my ministry. ANSWER: Not really.
So, it now catagram and workoutagram. That is basically all I use it for. I have one for Monsterhighagram, but I don't really use it much. I don't really use most of them much.  I post my workout pics twice a week and cat photos whenever they are doing something adorable. :)
