There was something about unusual jazz instruments, right ? Does some kick-ass kazoo count?
A guy by the name of Alabama Vest got the idea for the kazoo in the
1840's in Macon, Georgia. He teamed up with the German clock
manufacturer Thaddeus Von Glegg to construct the first kazoo. It's ancestry can be traced back centuries to the mirlitons from African folk music, through 17th and 18th century opera right up to today.

Sexy Jailbait Girls !!!!! Once again PLEASE take a minute to read about this community. It's basically what it says in the name photo after photo of under aged girls posing in underwear even naked. And I added every scum bag who +1 or made a perverted comment in to my newly created pervert circle And why you as. Simple! Because I'm now going to name and shame every fucking last one, so +1, share and comment this list, but please take a min or 2 to take a look at this community and see for yourself........

Someone asked me tonight why the G+ dream is almost dead for me.

This was my response (with a lot embellishment added here):

(warning tl;dr ahead)

Getting added to the SUL showed me that you can have 200,000+ followers and barely get a tiny % of that number interacting on content. It's very disheartening. Looking through the list of people who have added me to their circles is a giant mess of blue heads. No profile picture. Nothing on their profile at all, really. These are the "G+ ghosts." Instead of a ghost town though, it's turned into a ghost city.

Is it my content? I try to post as much original content as I can. Whether it's my artwork, photos, attempts at comedy. I learned long ago that some people can put on the "cruise control" and get more "engagement" (I still hate that word) by posting old content, motivational sayings (that they didn't come up with,) funny cat gifs, etc etc than I can with something that took me a while to create. I didn't want to go that route and ride the coattails of someone else's creativity. I can't control who likes, or shares or even comments on my posts. Some people have found that magic formula. Myself, I've struck gold here and there, but that mystical "mother lode" and "sweet spot" is still lurking just outside my reach.

By now, cliques have been formed, celebrities firmly established, a clear guide to what people should like (anything Google or Android) and what they shouldn't (anything not Google or Android.) Yes, this is a place developed by Google. It's a magical land of Android and Google Glasses and self-driving cars (that may or may not have hit a donkey,) but the animosity towards anyone that uses other products is overwhelming.

I also feel that Google doesn't know what the hell they're doing with this. UI changes (3 major ones to the mobile version since it came out, at least 2 different versions of the desktop) different toys to play with (ripples, pages, more hats in hangouts (which I admit, are cool,) and then recently the addition of communities. It's like they have a dart board and they're throwing a dart at it and picking something new to roll out every couple of months. People get jazzed about the newness of something and then a few months later, it's lost the luster. #whitespace  anyone? That's been here for almost a year.

Communities has made everything fragmented and the feeling of an actual "Community" on G+ is gone. A lot of people are posting only to communities and I'm missing a lot of the content they used to share with me as their follower. I hate having to think I'd have to join some community and then another sub community, possibly, to see content that used to be shared openly with me. You also can't see what communities people have joined (oh imagine the fun THAT would be!) so tracking down where people are spending all their time now a chore.

As it happens on any forum I've been on since I've been online, things change. People come and go. Attrition, real life happens, boredom. I think G+ is getting to that point for me. At first it was like lightning in a bottle. I managed (somehow) to catch it. I actually channeled the negative energy from this place (the hatred of Facebook and Twitter) and turned it into art that's gotten me a fair amount of recognition here. Sadly, the place where I got my start, is no longer feeling like a welcome place. The negative energy hasn't lessened at all.

Don't get me wrong, I'm grateful to G+ for giving me a place to show my art and meet people. It's a free service and they don't owe me a thing. I'm also grateful to my core group of friends and fans that usually manage to chime in on my posts.

Not quite sure what lies ahead for me on G+. I know everyone's here for different reasons and some are happy and others are growing jaded like myself. Will I still be here when my two year anniversary rolls around? No clue.

I guess I'll just continue to do what I do and "keep calm and carry on."

Or whatever.

I think reporters/journalists should speak accurately when they characterize a presidential act

I think reporters/journalists should provide correct information if a source says something that is untrue

Finally, I think reporters/journalists should CORRECT their mistakes.

My heartburn with the reporting this week is more with the "23 executive orders" than the confusion of three memoranda which were presented as executive orders. But a memorandum is NOT an executive order; it doesn't have a filing number (which means not easily counted) and it doesn't have to be filed in the Federal Register. Although there is a legal opinion from 2000 equating their effectiveness, they ain't the same animal.

It's Official. Scandal Is Fail

#Scandal has been having some of it's highest ratings lately and I'm not surprised ... the less integrity and intelligence a show has, the more popular it is with the general public.

This is one of those 2BG shows that's going to turn off a lot of people because it's a pretty serious rant about television, media, the INDUSTRY of television, and how shows like Scandal have to become "sexy for idiots". If you're looking for a show about how awesome the new season is ... you're not gonna get it so don't bother to watch this.

Scandal has become a show that insults our intelligence and if you don't think so then you probably should not bother watching this episode of 2BG. This show on Scandal is more about what's wrong with the industry of television, the history of that industry, and what it takes to get everyone in the world to tune into a show like Scandal. The show has taken a nose dive that perhaps only a handful of people would notice but it's enough to turn us off completely.

If you actually decide sit through the entire 36 minutes of this 2BG show and really listen to what we're trying to explain, then you will learn a great deal and maybe you'll be one step closer to not allowing TV execs to treat you like you're stupid.

We do some Clips-n-Bits towards the end just to show you the extent that we'll be willing to watch this garbage program from now on.  But honestly, I wouldn't count on any serious coverage from us from now on. It's not even a show that we could make fun of like Deception or Beauty and the Beast or other crap shows, it's not funny at all ... it's just SAD and INSULTING.
If you're someone who likes Scandal better now than you did before, I'd wonder what you truly liked about it in the first place.

General Introduction
Q: What music is good to post here?
A: Music that is interesting, usually unusual and worth sharing. Keep the emphasis on unusual. If you heard it on commercial radio, or some other form of mainstream media, or if its by an widely known and popular artist, it's not likely going to be unusual.

The Worsties are a high energy, female-fronted rock band from Nashville that mixes influences from 70’s era punk, 80’s pop and glam, with new wave dance beats thrown in for good measure. https://www.facebook.com/TheWorsties/info

A number of spiritual leaders have remarked upon what they perceive as special qualities of the area. The name of the nearby Sangre de Cristo (Blood of Christ) mountains are one indication of the early impression the area made on settlers. Thrangu Rinpoche, a Tibetan Buddhist lama, has stated that in part because Crestone is near the Continental Divide with waters that flow in both directions, it is a particularly auspicious place. According to Buddhist scholar Reginald Ray, another high-ranking Tibetan Buddhist lama, Khenpo Tsultrim Gyamtso Rinpoche, told him "Crestone is one of the two or three places on Planet Earth best suited for retreat practice."

Pan and zoom photos on the desktop

Google+ is full of amazing photos, and today we're introducing the ability to pan and zoom when viewing photos from your desktop. To give these features a try, simply open a large photo in the lightbox, then:

- use your mouse wheel to zoom in or out
- click and drag to pan right, left, up or down

Higher resolution photos will offer more to explore, so we're excited to launch pan and zoom just weeks after launching full-size backups of your Android photos (http://goo.gl/KRpjE).

Give 'em a go, and let us know your thoughts as we improve on these and other features!

"Liberal" means open-mindedness to me. While I am neither politically or ideologically conservative, liberal or moderate, I think of myself as a liberal thinker with strong, clearly defined values, some of which are conservative and others liberal. To my liberal friends, I’m too conservative. Too my conservative friends, I’m too liberal. And to the moderates, I’m a misfit. What it really means is, I am open-minded and respectful of other people and their opinions even when I vehemently disagree.

This morning I was deeply moved by this article in one of our local liberal weekly newspapers. In particular, the writer's unexpected prose flipped a few of my emotional and intellectual switches.

"If you want to eat local, eat clean, reduce your food’s carbon footprint, and have a real relationship with what you consume, you can’t do much better than shooting a deer and packing your freezer with venison.

So why the wide cultural gulf separating people who grew up taking a sick day on the first day of general firearms season and those who spend a solid chunk of their paycheck each week on locally sourced groceries from Whole Foods? Why is hunting for rednecks and grass-fed beef for snobs?"

When our older daughter became a vegan on principles of animal rights in her early teens, we had numerous discussions of the pros and cons. We did not try to dissuade her or force-feed her beef. She made some wonderful points about animal treatment and raising methods. We all learned a lot. Then we caught her buried in the fridge with cheeks puffed up with roast beef. Now she eats a healthy intelligent, well-balanced diet and shops thoughtfully.

I grew up loving veal. When our son was 5 or 6, he enjoyed sitting in the kitchen while I pounded veal scallopini into delicate submission before cooking in Marsala or lemon and garlic. He'd say, “I want the meat you hit with a hammer."

During the late 80s, abusive animal rearing began escaping the pen so to speak. When I learned how baby calves were kept in sunless stalls, unable to move, and left there for days after they died, veal was slashed from our list, but, I never gave up eating meat.

I believe hunting, fishing, and growing what I eat is the ultimate way to grocery shop. Unfortunately, I do not live that way, but applaud it and support it. These two women experienced another side of guns. A sensible side that has social and community value with personal reward. What I found most intriguing and inspiring is their open-mindedness, the sign of true liberal thinking.

Country or not - it's a tough call...

Country or not - it's a tough call...
The Rambler is the 56th album by American country singer Johnny Cash, released in 1977 on Columbia Records. A concept album about travelling, its songs, in between, include dialogue between Cash and hitchhikers picked up or other people he meets during the album's cross-country trip. It is the last, and one of the few Johnny Cash albums to only feature songs written by Cash himself. It is also his last concept album, and was included on the Bear Family box set Come Along and Ride this Train. The Rambler reached #31 on the country album charts; the two singles, "Lady" and "After the Ball", had minor chart success.
Johhny Cash could fit into the little boxes for only a short time. Generally he was always "on the road" one way or another...

Obsidian Kitten: Everything I Know I Learned from Cats

1. The only two words you really need to know are "Me" and "Now."
2. Always wait at least 15 seconds before responding.
3. When responding, do so as if it's an inconvenience.
4. Keep your priorities in order: Food, Sleep, and Food.
5. If you can't eat it, sleep on it, or play with it, it's not worth getting excited about.
6. You don't have to pout for long--just long enough to make your point.
7. Never let them forget who's really in charge.
