Josh Constine, who has made only one public post on Google+ all year, claims that Google+ didn't matter until Google deployed G+'s awesome commenting system to save YouTube from being completely over-run by trolls and haters.

If you believe, as I do, that Google+ "matters," and that snarky BS to the contrary is based on pure ignorance, share your views with our friend Josh here:

The time the squirrel peed on my boss…

Its time for a fun story. So….back when I was working my first full time job out of college, I had a gorgeous black lab. she was on a long chain in the back yard that encompassed a tree. Well, there was an annoying squirrel that would drop acorns on the dog while she was sleeping.
A very short story for #squirrelsaturday

Shoot- two buzzfeeds in a row - go figure ?
PJ Media is a total hoot, btw. I watched a few shows and was certain that it was a parody site. Nobody could be that stupid , right ? Well, they showed me. They're serious. Too much "tea" in the kool-aid is my guess.

I'm not a big fan of "buzzfeed". Every now and then though, they "nail" it. They put together a great list of "story-telling" sources. I am a huge fan of most of these and will be checking the rest out as time permits. They only one I do know and don't love is "Snap Judgement". It's ok, but just somehow misses the sweet spot for me.

Pirate flags, too!

The salamanders are... a Colin thing. Don't get me wrong, I love the lizards, just not to the extent the C. man does.

Better pictures tomorrow.

Bracelets, earrings and necklaces to come! Got any requests?

The Gaelic calendar (also known as the Irish calendar) is a pre-Christian Celtic system of timekeeping used during Ireland's Gaelic era and still in popular use today to define the beginning and length of the day, the week, the month, the seasons, quarter days, and festivals. The Gaelic calendar does not observe the astronomical seasons that begin in the Northern Hemisphere on the equinoxes and solstices, or the meteorological seasons that begin on March 1, June 1, September 1, and December 1. Rather, the middle of the seasons in the Gaelic calendar fall around the solstices and equinoxes. As a result, for example, midsummer falls on the summer solstice. The beginnings of the seasons are roughly the halfway points between solstice and equinox: The Celtic year began on 1 November.

A Baptist preacher and his wife decided to get a new dog. Ever mindful of the congregation, they knew the dog must also be a Baptist. They visited kennel after kennel and explained their needs. Finally, they found a kennel whose owner assured them he had just the dog they wanted.

A Baptist preacher and his wife decided to get a new dog. Ever mindful of the congregation, they knew the dog must also be a Baptist. They visited kennel after kennel and explained their needs. Finally, they found a kennel whose owner assured them he had just the dog they wanted.
The owner brought the dog to meet the pastor and his wife. 'Fetch the Bible,' he commanded. The dog bounded to the bookshelf, scrutinized the books, located the Bible, and brought it to the owner. 'Now find Psalm 23' he commanded The dog dropped the Bible to the floor and showing the marvelous dexterity with his paws, leafed through and found the correct passage, then pointed to it with his paw. The pastor and his wife were very impressed and purchased the dog. That evening, a group of church members came to visit.

The pastor and his wife began to show off the dog, having him locate several Bible verses. The visitors were very impressed. Finally, one man asked, 'Can he do regular dog tricks , too?' 'I haven't tried yet,' the pastor replied.. He pointed his finger at the dog. 'HEEL!' the pastor commanded. The dog immediately jumped on a chair, placed one paw on the pastor's forehead and began to howl. The pastor looked at his wife in shock and said, 'Good Lord! He's Pentecostal.'

 What is most impressive is the black-cap chickadee’s landing. Her claws are strong enough to perch through any storm yet delicate enough not to puncture the balloon. Her white-breasted nuthatch friend seems impressed too.

Prayer for Animals and Their Masters

Prayer for Animals and Their Masters
#sacredsunday
Hear our humble prayer, O God,
for our friends, the animals,
especially for those who are suffering;
for animals that are overworked,
underfed, and cruelly treated;
for all the wistful creatures in captivity,
that beat their wings against bars;
for any that are hunted or lost or deserted,
or frightened or hungry;
for all that must be put to death.

We entreat for them all
Thy mercy and pity,
and for those who deal with them,
we ask a heart of compassion
and gentle hands and kindly words.
Make us, ourselves,
to be true friends to animals
and so to share
the blessings of the Merciful.
