Well I completed my big project for 2015. Fifty two pictures covering every week and the one project I really wanted to complete. (sigh)

Somewhere along the way I lost my desire to continue with Google+. One change after another, after another until, finally it was just too much.

Then about a week ago, I saw lots of people catching up pn their projects and I decided to try to muster enough enthusiasm to complete it. Of course G+ "lost" a picture somewhere along the way. It seems appropriate to leave it out. I'm sure I could figure out whats missing but I think it's better this way.

Fittingly enough, the final word was "Broken". I made it the cover photo and it shouldn't need any explanation. Just in case it doesn't show up quite right - it's a screen shot of my stream, in a broken heart...

PS - I'm going to do WPP2015 so wish me luck.

We had walked the moon, circled all the planets except Pluto only to be caught in the WEB.

The Donald doesn't scare me, but his supporters sure do. I'd be interested to hear from any of them as to why I could be wrong.

I'd be honored to share your magazine feature in our little artsy community. Would you consider checking us out and tossing us a tidbit when the muse moves you ?

Cool beans Alan !

I started out 2015 with high hopes. I don't have a good record of completing long term projects but this was going to be different.

I started out 2015 with high hopes. I don't have a good record of completing long term projects but this was going to be different.
And it was.
I made it through most of the year and this was the one project I kept current on. Some of my best pictures (ever) are in my wpp2015 album. I learned new terms and techniques. I stuck to it in rain and shine and even in the snow. For a Florida cracker - that really means something.
I strongly urge all my picture taking peeps to give this a shot (or fifty two of them.) It's the bestest place to share show and grow and meet some great people,
I never completed wpp2015. The whole New G+ thing has taken my enthusiasm and trashed it, But who knows ? There are two and a half weeks left and I hope I get a second wind.
Maybe if a bunch of my shooter buds get together and sign up for WPP2016 and reshare this and use the comments here to talk me into it - I might give it a try too ?

About the Weekly Photo Project 2016

Welcome to the 2016 Weekly Photo Project - it's open for all levels of photographers and you can join at any time!

The idea of the project is to have fun, whilst learning more about photography and your camera.

The idea is simple: each week you will try to take a new photograph based on a theme, executed any way you feel fit. The list of themes for the year and the copy / paste tags for each theme can be found in the Community

Try to take the photos weekly if possible (it is more fun that way - we don’t check exif data but “stockpiling” images in advance or raiding your archive would not be in the spirit of the project). The Project should not be a source of stress though: if you’re late then you’re late, if you miss a theme then you miss a theme, so what and no worries.

Remember:

1) This is not about the camera or having expensive kit or being skilled at post-processing. Take all your photos on your phone if you wish - it's about your photo taken anyway and anyhow.

2) The project is not just for experienced photographers but for anyone who wants to have fun taking pictures.

3) Don’t feel intimidated or that you’re not good enough. This is designed to be a friendly place for all of us to enjoy.

Don’t just share your photos, comment and “plus” the photos of other participants as well, so that we can all learn and enjoy the process. We can no longer share a “Participants” circle as we have done in previous years due to changes in G+. If you want to keep up with other / non-project work from the Participants then you will need to add them individually to a circle. Please post your images Publicly as well as to the Community ( cannot be done at the same time unfortunately ) and please ensure all photos are tagged with the tags for that theme / week ( available in a section on the Community )

Please, share only your own work, as we cannot promote pictures from others than you! And it would be nice to avoid pictures with text, just your copyright or signature if you wish.

I think it would be a good idea to solicit a replacement for me in the sketchit community. I have come to the point where I don't care to post any pictures on g+ any more.

Heck I didn't join the hunt - don't enter pix for WPP or WPC or B&W or MM or LPC even. I haven't done a rusty, stair, circle, webcam, grate or alien shot in weeks. I just tried to post a gif (snow globe) in SiS and discovered that the animations are behind a click barrier...
Grrr...
We would do better with someone with a positive attitude and a willingness to participate IMO. My negativity can't be good for the group,
On the bright side - real life is peachy. Well, except for the cold weather of course. Brrrrr...

I decided to check out a panno-stitching program from Microsoft called ICE. I've been using Hugin and liked the results but it took a very long time to work on my computer. This image took about 5-10 minutes to put four shots together.

This is just a test to see how it looks here. I think a different viewing/sharing platform would be better so that zooming in would be possible.
btw - it shouldn't take this much effort to share a picture ffs
