I have a long history of crying about almost every new g+ change that has come down the pike. Eventually I got tired of ranting every time and just made the best of it.
I have a bad feeling about this "collections" thing though. It just feels like a shark jumping sort of thing. Now who's going to tell me I'm wrong and help me embrace the change ?
Sorry but not me yet...I see a chance for the spammers and fake account (ers) to flood topics...I also see the need to look at collections tedious...I cover a vast range...as do most of my friends here...also I have never liked that a nice post of four items could reappear in my stream all day long (my own no less) broken apart...are these collections going to remain whole with the newest the first item up? Too much unknown right now...I may embrace it or reduce my circles to only those that reciprocate and connect...the very leanest I can go...and since they like to keep thumbnail caches on machines prolific people may have a problem there....hopefully next week or so I can form opinions and plot my course of action...I really like cleaning periodically and just keeping most in Drive and other clouds...my YouTube channel has lots of slideshow albums that people can go to to check what I post and what I like to see...if anyone read profiles anymore to know I have them
ReplyDeleteJust adding...I pulled 3 collections at random from my stream and the dates were all jumbled up from the collection order of appearance ... ah well it was good for a while ...maybe it will settle and people will post as usual

ReplyDeletemy eyes are ready crossed when I discovered I was already following every collection of every person in my circles just click collections on anyones profile page...gonna take a while to sort out and it wouldn't undelete seperately mail and phone notifications so my phone is now set to no notifications...till I see and sort things out...they have also been retro adding people to my friends circle...which I cleaned but will delete and make a new one called something else if it happens again...I won't leave mind you...I like it here...but I will adapt
ReplyDeleteIt's likely that I'll be here a lot less. My stream has got to H.E. double hockey sticks already. I won't actually leave, but it seems like it's going to take a lot of work to bring it back to enjoyable again.
ReplyDeleteI would hope not ted kelly you will be sorely missed in any degree you pull back...I'm glad to see you pop up in my stream...but I do understand...I will post public to the collections as time goes on I figure...I can't go back...I don't want to anyway... but most of my posts are deleted already to keep a fresh outlook...I will most likely narrow circles down and focus on one or just a few areas here ...lots of work could move to more suitable sites then...or maybe just get the job jar whittled down around here
