Just a small PSA, the only official place to download GIMP should be at the website: http://www.gimp.org/downloads/

There has been some recent shenanigans by SourceForge using Ad-supported installers, and/or possibly tainted installers, as well as locking the GIMP-WIN project away from the team (Jernej Simončič was the maintainer).  Please don't link to the SF downloads, as they are no longer considered safe by the GIMP team.

  1. Sourceforge used to be my go to for open source but recently have used mirroring sights that stopped that for me....I have several sites I won't allow downloads thru...as for trying to add extra stuff I find it everywhere anymore...every download is checked by virus and malware before opening...self extraction and auto run is disabled at download

  2. Likewise. I used to like C-Net too but I don't trust them any more.

  4. I need to work on my GIMP skills a whole lot more though. There are so many times I get frustrated and just go back to Pixlr just so I can "get er done" so to speak.

  5. I have a lot of collected video lists for them on my YouTube page and lots more are available in search on there...seeing is easiest for me and I gathered them for the wife and kids along with anyone else to use...do add the G'MIC plug in if you haven't though...tons of scripts to do the work for you

  6. Patrick David has a pretty useful G+ community and website. I'm starting over with the tutorials and videos from the GIMP website too. Some of it just clicks and some of it I have to go over and over again.
I go off on tangents too. The LightZone project will grab me for a while and then I end up going back and forth.

  7. I just studied on GIMP the most and can do anything I want now ted kelly but I see a lot of good coming out of those others...and I do experiment with them some....I believe the big trend going forward is with mobile though...the cameras on them are steadily moving up but since my budget don't allow a very often change I use apps mostly there...
