So I joined up here because I still occupy and I think keeping in touch is necessary. I have found though that I dread seeing posts from here in my stream. Occupy should be about more than just sharing whats wrong. It's about making stuff better, isn't it. What good do I get by staying here ? <----- honest question ---- How can I help?

ReplyDeleteWell, I just invited O-Atlanta to join. We need to search out active groups and show some positives. I'll try to publish some of our activities in OPB but overall - I'd say a mix of positives and negatives. Solutions and mixtures.

It gets hard to avoid that there's a whole lot of bad out there. Nice to push the good when it happens...but so much not good...I don't have the solution, and I'm up to my neck involved with the bad...between civil liberties issues and climate...

ReplyDeleteI go hide in fandom land on Tumblr when it gets too bad. Which it does. I then take a deep breath, think of my children and grandchild and come back for more.
ReplyDeleteI'm certainly game for limiting daily posts, provided the consensus supports this move. We don't have a General Assembly on here, so some command decisions will likely need to come from the mods and most active members.
ReplyDeleteIf anyone wants to get active Occupy cells in here, that'd be great. I'm pretty well acquainted with Occupy Minnesota and Occupy Homes MN, but they haven't expressed interest in utilizing G+ yet. Those groups are still heavily involved in FB.
As for positivity, it's always welcome. Just not easy to refocus from the plethora of bad things that got us all off our asses 2 years ago (the things that still plague the country).
