oops - I was thinking about a discussion of how much work is too much work in preparing for a shot - I was busy though and forgot to edit it... now that you mention it though - iit would be totally appropriate in the share others too...
ted kelly I don't think that anyone can ever over prepare for a shot. I think that it just become more of an artistic process of wanting to 'create' something rather than 'catch' something. Maybe it's a desire to create a 'moment' as photos are more strongly associated with capturing a moment in time whereas everyone realises how long it takes for an artist to complete a painting.... what do you think?
I could fill a page with the things I've been thinking about in trying to reply. Every time I think, here's the salient point I want to express, another idea grabs my and won't let go. -this process is continuing: I began this reply about twenty minutes ago... I'll stick with this: She seems to me to be an artist who is trying to portray huge concepts across cultures and choses her tools and uses them very carefully. She seem to be trying to put a whole lot of stuff into a fairly small package and then herself too. Her camera is just one of those tools .
ted kelly Yes. I agree and that for me is one of the things that defines a creative photographer - it's more about the idea, feelling, vision , question etc that one is trying to express through a media (e.g. computer monitor) using a tool (e.g. camera). I like your thinking Ted :-D
what's the discussion here ted kelly ? or should I move it into SHARE others work?
