I wish I could be there.

I wish I could be there.

IMPORTANT If you live in Northwest Florida and haven't heard about the Grasi (Gulf Regional Airspace Strategic Initiative) it's time to listen up and voice your opinions. There is a public meeting in Milton this Thursday (June 5th) from 6 pm to 9 pm at the Santa Rosa County Bagdad Recreational Facility 4591 School St, Milton, FL.  PLEASE SHARE

In short, the military is planning to use and in some instances restrict public access to Blackwater River State Forest and Tate's Hell in order to carry out military training:

"This revised draft makes it all too clear that by accepting the GRASI proposal our largest state forests will become an extension of Eglin’s special operations training program.  There would be forest closures, constant military aircraft traffic between Eglin AFB and the two forests and within the forests, military personnel in the forests, periodic closures of six major roads in the forests to be used for fixed-wing air strips and blocking of intersecting roads for the length of the landing  strips.  This would end the free flowing of traffic to, from and within these forests."

  1. I wish you could be there too. They're trying to slip this one in under the radar. Not very many people in the local area are even aware of what's about to happen.
