  1. Nice history lesson. We had one historical mark like this near where I live, it used to be there for hundreds of years, then vandals broke it and it's no longer there. I hope this one stays for long.

  4. Well Capt. over the years people had been chopping off pieces and had ruined it. There was a need to preserve what was left before they blasted, filled and paved (of course) the original site. I plan on going back for the annual gathering this year. My local peeps tell me it used to be a big tourist "event" but in recent year it's mostly "just" a small bunch of "Indians" that show up for it.
