Shutdown The Republicans Who Caused the Government Shutdown
Travel Boycott Called For 32 Congressional Districts
A small group of House conservative hardliners managed to bring the federal government to a halt for 16 days. 70 percent of the American people say these House Republicans put politics first.

The shutdown cost the economy jobs, lost retail sales and more — at least $12 billion worth, and maybe as much as $24 billion. Now we are sending a message to these conservative hardliners: Holding America hostage is going to cost you.

A travel boycott of these conservative hardliners' Congressional districts is a tool for holding these members of Congress accountable. A travel boycott will put pressure on the voters who elected these clowns to Congress to not do so again.

Here are the places to avoid when planning your next vacation, business or professional conference, or while traveling to other destinations in the area.

"Who are those hardliners? To compile this list, we started with a roster that the Senate Conservatives Fund, a group aligned with Ted Cruz, created of representatives who were allied with them. We cross-checked it with the list of members who signed an August letter by Rep. Mark Meadows demanding that Boehner use a shutdown as a threat to defund Obamacare, and against other public statements this week. It's not a comprehensive roll — there’s no official “wacko bird” caucus that keeps a register — but it's a window into the small but powerful group of men and women in the House of Representatives who brought the federal government to a standstill."

  2. Late edit to the post:

This post is a call to action. The most effective way to organize for action is to identify supporters and get them involved. Debates are a distraction.

    The next steps:
    1. If you plan on boycotting, let the representative know by letter what you plan on doing, and exactly how much money you might have spent in their district. Let them know, Holding America hostage is going to cost you. Send a copy to the local newspaper and the Chamber of Commerce.
    2. Share this post on G+ and other social media sites.
    3. If you can't share the full post, publicize it. For example, post the following:

  3. Districts Where The GOP Is In Danger Of Losing Seats
"A poll conducted in the wake of the government shutdown, show Republicans are in serious danger in 29 of the 36 districts polled--making it clear that Republicans could easily lose control of the House if the next election were held today. Democrats must net 17 seats to reclaim the House. The surveys challenges the conventional wisdom that gerrymandering has put the House out of reach for Democrats and indicates the shutdown has significant electoral implications."
