See here's the thing. The left and the right both suck big nasty ones. Generally speaking though the things the lefties post are arguably based on observation, backed up with citations and not posted to incite but rather to inform. There are obviously abuses and idiots and yes liars - but opinions are expressed vehemently as opinions and facts are either fact or they're refuted.
This particular website slings crap like it was gospell and you're right. They shouldn't do that. So let's be generous and say that 2-5% of lefty stuff (not op-eds just allegedly factual reporting) Oh heck, let's say 10% (not). I would compare that to the 75-90% of the righty stuff being simple lies or even perhaps in the spirit of generosity legitimate opinion that gets re-reported and reposted as fact.
Once a lie, or a hundred of them is quoted by "reliable" sources it becomes the new truth. I mean, everybody knows that so-and-so is a wife beater soon becomes "it's been reported" and then poof - new reality from whole cloth.
The folks at the far end of both sides know this and do it daily. Over and over ad nauseum...
If you challenge one fact, there are ten more. Challenge those ten - who knows, maybe a few of them have enough shreds of truth that in the interest of fairness you concede a few and boom there's a score, then a hundred. All damn day long...
So, I'm frustrated and I went on a tear today. You see what thirty minutes of it coming back looks like. I'll still stand by the other three pieces but I'd have to actually read some of this one to know how far off bases it really is. But Darrell, the level of this one here is exactly the same as the level of the dozen or so you post up every day. And you are by far and away posting less damaging stuff than most of the others.
I absolutely believe that most of the moderate to mildly extreme lefties post in an effort, however misguided you may think they are to make things better for "we the people". I also swear to you that the mildly extreme to wing nut righty crowd are motivated by "me the screw everybody else" philosophy. Add to the mix the actual wing nuts who are simply vandals, pissing on everything and that's how Teddy lost it today...
