ReplyDeleteExactly! Think of it as a mirror. I posted this sincerely rather than as a lesson but it tuned out to be a good one. Let's break it down...
ReplyDeleteBelievable item that echoes a legitimate yet not true bias gets posted. People who find it useful begin citing it. People who agree with it start reposting it and the thing snowballs into a viral, virtual reality. Just do a search for "Limbaugh serviceman moocher" and you will see page after page of results which all can be traced back to this one blog post.
This is what happens all day. Every day. Over and over and over add nauseum. You don't see the humor ? I understand. The question is, do you see the point ?
ted kelly It's very hard to say from the article that it's a satire, when he quotes Clear Channel as if its their official reply. I have never visited that guy's blog. Like you say, we shouldn't believe everything that is on the web.
