Is it just me or has this place been totally facebookified lately ? This one didn't see a movie (that was probably released when they were about two years old) so they're an idiot. That one rage quits all their communities because somebody trashed one of their threads. Another one spends hours deleting and blocking because trolls are arguing with each other over her politics.
Enough peeps. Play like this is IRL. Show some respect for something for crying out loud. Fake it 'til you make it and maybe we'll think you actually have some class.
~Or not. Do what make you happy. That's all that really matters, right ? What makes you happy ? ~
I try to reserve that sort of behavior for different venues.
ReplyDeleteI agree!!
ReplyDeleteI'm not seeing this right now, but noticed the trend towards Facebookification some months ago. What I did was to sort through my circles, unfollowing many people not really matching my interests. I found that, for example, many people I followed in 2014 because they participated in the Weekly Photo Project then no longer share interesting photography, so I got rid of most of them.
ReplyDeleteSince then, I've employed some sort of private three-strikes rule: if someone posts something stupid once in a while, he'll get away with it - but once I recognize someone as a "repeat offender", I will check his profile and unfollow if the majority of posts are uninteresting for me.
At the same time, I created a separate circle for "interesting people" so that, once I start sorting through this year's WPP circle, some of you are save already. ;)
With circle shares no longer possible, and the addition of collections to better manage what one has to see of others, I hope that the quality of posts in my stream will further increase over time.
That sounds like a good plan AB. I eagerly look forward to the upcoming election cycle for the high level of polite conversing and idea sharing. LOL
