Gosh - this is awkward
Dominique Venner killed himself today at the altar of Notre Dame. He was an Ultra-Conservative blogger, historian and life long "hater" He also was outspokenly and extremely Anti-Gay. He left a note that was not immediately published.
So many questions spring to mind. Why there ? Was he a Catholic ? What was in the letter?

My take? "I'm killing myself so I can be famous and people will somehow take this selfish act to explain how the fact that gay people scare me means that they shouldn't be considered human beings." I may have been swayed by the frankly frightening comments of support for his position.
ReplyDeleteGays, foreigners,liberals and moderates, there was plenty of room in his hate basket. I'm leaning towards he just went nuts.
