How about a now and then theme ? For example:

it might be a challenge to find unusual and worthy - but I can think of at least a few - not Stones or Aerowmith but - he hehhe - We'll just have to see, eh?

Ooooh good question and examples. I was thinking of performers who had success but left the business and then returned much later. I'm liking your take on it better though.
