This is a truly inspired version of The Twelve days of Christmas. It's but one song on a collection that includes equally stunning versions of traditional holiday tunes.

In 1996, Jane Siberry gave a series of Wednesday night concerts at New York City's Bottom Line. Child: Music for the Christmas Season (1997) is the first release of that series.

The double live CD package is a wonderful alternative to otherwise often vapid holiday music. The music is Siberry's unique blend of folk and jazz, with a bit of pop. Mixing obscure christmas/yuletide related tunes and charming originals, Jane Siberry actually evokes the spirit of the season in her songs.

I hate holiday music. But this song. This song. Wow!
