Adult Content Filters ? Wouldn't they be EVIL ?

  1. I would soooo love that.  I like Red Bubble because they have that.

  2. If they're set & managed by users they'd be less evil than arbitrary flag&ban. If run by The Management, yeah, evil.

  3. But Google is all about NOT being evil, right ? And the ones griping the loudest getting banned all seem to say that self censorship is the worst evil of all, right ? So (to me) it seems like what they really want is not even about "dirty pictures" ART so much as a form of rape.

  4. The sanest idea I've heard - and fer sure there will be people who try to post naughty stuff untagged Because They Can; we call them 'idiots' if we're being nice - is to have one or more NSFW tags (%nude, %gore, %tentacleporn, whatever) that the poster could apply, for which other people could then filter in their own accounts (or which filters would all be applied automatically for accounts of under-18 users, assuming people never lie about their age.)
I mean, ultimately people can defeat any system if they want to. The idea is to have something that lets people avoid images they don't want to see without having it be a big ol' flag-fest. 'Cause that feels pretty crummy, if you post something intended as Art and someone freaks out because a nipple or a penis is showing, and you get flagged/banned.
