I only slightly tweaked the contrast and lighting and just a wee bit of sharpening using a desktop program called FastStone Image Viewer. It doesn't have all the range and power of things like PS/LR/LZ/GIMP but it's quick, simple and has enough "oomph" to take care of most of my editing needs. It's also a pretty good viewer with a quick UI and good rendering.
