Can anyone tell me?
I took this picture a few weeks ago outside a West Knoxville office building. Love the unusual shape and the mottled bark pattern -- but have no idea exactly what species of tree.
Thanks in advance for the answer!

Big rubber band.... sling shot.
ReplyDeleteOh, now I am seeing the real question. My guess is that is a weathered birch tree, with the peeling bark. But it looks a bit dark for a birch.
ReplyDeleteted kelly Many thanks for the kind reshare.
ReplyDeleteKirk Jordan The big-rubber-band-and-slingshot idea is a terrific one. Why didn't I think of that? Thanks for the birch suggestion; I'll google other birth photos and see what I can learn this way?
