I did some research last year and found that the budget allocation for assistance programs is about the same as it was in the 80s even though GDP doubled. CEO's income has grown by something like 750% if memory serves me while employee's income has risen a whopping 5%. The author doesn't present his case very well by skimming the numbers.
Just read the caustic comments that follow the piece...should make the issues clear.
