When I lived in Tennessee I saw some odd graves. Some people called them "witches graves" and they had two long slabs of stone as the main feature. I discovered they were called tent graves and were intended not so that the witches could come and go, but to keep kids and crittters out tof the graves.

So now I'm back in Florida where the sugar sand is even softer. I noticed these in one cemetery and this one in particular caught my eye. Pvt. Jacksons given name is on the headstone but it looks like his nickname was stamped into the concrete.
