To each his/her own poison - leave it at that. The moment you try to say one god is better than another - it is conflict.
Religion, in my personal perspective, should be between YOU and GOD (or GODDESS), which ever GOD/ess you believe in, or more important TRUST. The moment anyone else comes in between - a priest, mullah, pastor, bishop or anyone else - it all goes to dog, not god.
To me, personally, the GOD (or GODDESS) is the one, to whom I can pray for wellness of ted kelly or a Roy Manterfield and many others, & still maintain my OWN faith.
BTW, I pray equally hard when I happen to venture into the Sikh Gurdwara or San Thome Cathedral or Hazrat Sayed Moosa Darga, Mount Road, or Parthasarthy & Kapaleeshwar Temples, Triplicane. To me, God is One - just in different forms.
One thing I'm sure of - no religion has it all right. With the possible exception if the Universal Life Church (of Modesto California) where my own ordination is on record. Not to be confused with any other ULC such as the one in Florida, a notorious tax dodge and heretical cult. So keep me in mind and remember that all donations are tax deductible The (not) Right Reverend Theo
If there is something between just one person and their god(s), then that is faith. Religion requires someone to tell you you're doing it wrong and save you from your evil ways.
Religion has nothing to do with god(s). Religion is people using mythology to manipulate other people. In other words, the same thing parents do to little kids when they tell them about the boogeyman or Santa's list that he's checking twice.
Oh Grant Marlenee. You're missing one of the very important foundations of the whole churchy experience. If you would simple send me a small "love offering", say maybe about 10% of whatever you've got, I'll be glad to share this information with you. Throw in an extra 14 bucks (plus s&h) and I'll make you a saint, thus virtually guaranteeing your salvation.
