A few months ago I posted some pictures of "The Witches Graveyard". I tried googling the heck out of it and got linked back to just the one location and some skeptical articles. Well, I found this place by accident one day. I was looking for pix for Cemetery Saturday #cemeterysaturday curated by Corey Gibson and Cristy Gibson
and discovered the memorial stone here with the term "tent grave" on it.
It turns out there are loads of them. Mostly here(ish) but even as far away as Alabama. The link I've added here has pix, history and locations and is well worth a look. http://www.thegravewalkers.com/tentgraves.htm

I like #squirrelsaturday because it leads me down some very interesting rabbit squirrel holes. Here's a short quick article that while it only took about a minute to read will have me chasing more stuff like this, perhaps for hours. Here is the last little tidbit:

Squirrels will pretend to bury a nut if they know they are being watched and wait until they are alone to actually hide it. Being capable of actively deceiving another squirrel is a form of tactical deception, a skill once thought exclusive to primates.

Some artists can be tagged and labeled and put on a shelf. Others move between worlds and leave behind their marks and you sort of run out labels. Some of them require you to even make new labels.
I thought of Rod as a guilty pleasure. Too pop to take seriously and too weird to be popular. Over time though he kept moving, both forward and from side to side. Finding My Father moved the world and opened parts of it up that might never have been possible.
Singer, Poet, Composer, Activist. Goofball and nominated for both Oscars and Pulitzers, this guy was by any definition, interesting and worth sharing.

An interesting take on materialism. I don't agree with every bit and nuance but I think it poses a good question. Science actually is close to proving that Descarte had it wrong. The trend is now more towards - Molecules and enzymes and stuff, therefor I am. My inner philosopher wonders but my inner poet say no.

As some of you know, I'm not a huge fan of face-boo. There are a few groups I stubbornly hang on to. Old army buddies, high school reunion stuff and the like. I left most of the "fun" groups and "did you grow up in" ones a long time ago.

Writers, Readers, those of you who just like doing good for others - here's a chance to do something positive for someone else and it's going to cost less than a buck. In some cases it won't cost you that.
Keith Milstead, a fellow indie writer, passed away last Thursday. Sixteen months prior he released his only ebook, a short story titled Fish To Die For. I bought and read it last night - a quick fun read (took about 90 minutes). It is worth your attention.
I'm asking that you either go to the link and download a copy, or share this post. I understand some of you don't read horror, but it's entertaining and shouldn't shock anyone.
So if you have the time, you'd be doing a good thing. This isn't really a matter of money. Trust me, his family won't get enough to make a big difference (unless everyone here bought a copy and shared), but the positive attention given to his book would be nice right now. It would be a nice thing to do for someone.
Thanks.

Thanks GoDaddy for promoting throwing a puppy out of a moving car, puppy mills and that it's just fine with your company to have a dog left at the side of the road and crying in the rain.
And kudos for making it funny that the owners are happy to see the puppy make it back since they just sold it on Craig's List.
Very classy that you are also deleting all negative comments from your posts.

I've never done Bokeh on purpose before. I did soften up the background just a bit. I cut a star into a piece of cardboard and put it over my flash though to get this effect. I've enjoyed playing with this technique for few days and so yeah - loving the WPP learning experience.

Texas is Goat Country. That’s according to The Washington Post, which analyzed USDA Agricultural Census data. “Of the top ten goat-producing counties, 8 are in Texas and two are in Arizona. In Sutton County, Texas, goats outnumber people 14-to-1. In Edwards County, also in Texas, the ratio is 22-to-1. All in all, goats outnumber people in 21 U.S. counties, all but one of which are in Texas. While our national goat herd shrunk somewhat between 2007 and 2012 -- from 3.1 million to 2.6 million -- taking a longer view the trend in goat production tends upward. Back in 1982, for instance, the U.S. produced only 1.7 million goats.”

WTF ?
WTF ?
These situations are not unknown. In fact, they are rather common on Metro. Safety reports show that Metro had 86 incidents of "smoke and fire" in 2013 and 85 more between January and the end of August 2014.

This Week In The Google+ Help Community
Everything you wanted to know about Google+ Photos on your phone but were afraid to ask!
Welcome to the Google+ Help Weekly Report, where we discuss a trending topic within the Google+ Help Community! This week I’ve noticed a lot of questions regarding deleting and restoring photos in Google+, whether you’re on your computer or your phone.
Turning Auto Backup on and off.
First of all, you should be aware that Google+ has an Auto Backup feature that works with the Google+ app on your phone to automatically copy any photos you take on the phone into your Google+ account on Google’s servers. This allows you to easily share photos you’ve taken on the phone to your Google+ circles, even if you’re accessing them through the computer, and it also provides an excellent cloud backup of all your photos to help you avoid losing them in case something happens to your phone. To use the Auto Backup, as well as see additional information about its features, follow the directions found at https://support.google.com/plus/answer/1647509?hl=en
Controlling which folders on the phone are automatically backed up.
You can control whether photos in folders other than the Camera folder should be backed up and, if so, which folders. To enable/disable Auto Backup for folders other than the Camera folder, touch the 3-dot icon in the upper right hand corner of the Photos app, select Settings, select Auto Backup, and make sure there is a check after Back up local folders. To select which local folders you want photos to be Auto Backed up from, return to the main screen of the Photos app, swipe from the left side of screen, scroll down to On Device, and select folders by using the cloud icon to the right of each folder name. If it is blue, Auto Backup is enabled for the folder. If it is gray with a line through it, Auto Backup is disabled.
Deleting local and online copies of photos in the Google+ Photos app:
If you want to delete photos entirely from Google+ on your phone and on Google’s servers, in the Google+ app, go to Everything, and then, at the bottom, go to Photos. Find the first photo you want to delete under "All" and long press the first to select it, then select any others. Touch the bin icon at the top right to delete from your phone and online.
Deleting local copies of photos in the Google+ Photos app:
If, on the other hand, you just want to delete the copies of the photos on the phone while leaving them in your Google+ account on the servers you’ll use these instruction. When in the Photos app on the phone, touch the Photo symbol at the top left to bring up the menu, then go to On Device. Find the "Camera" folder, then touch the folder name to open it up. If you delete photos from there, only the local copy will be deleted.
Restoring Photos in the Google+ Photos app:
In the Photos app on the phone, touch the Photo symbol at the top left to bring up the menu, then go to Bin (you may need to scroll down). Find the image(s) you want to restore, then long press on it. A menu bar will appear; the sideways u shaped arrow next to the bin will restore the photo. When this menu is up, you can select more photos and restore them. This will restore the photo to your phone and your backups or albums.
Restoring Auto-backup photos to your phone:
In case you’ve deleted photos from your phone but want to restore them from your Google+ account back to the phone, you will need to use your desktop or laptop. On your computer, hover over the Home button, and from the menu that appears, go to Photos. Click in the search bar and select Auto-backup. Select the first image by clicking on the checkmark on the top left of the image. You can then scroll down to the last image, hold down shift, and click the checkmark on that one to select all the photos in between. Once you’re in selection mode, with a blue bar above the photos, you can individually select and deselect other photos. Once you have all the photos you want to restore selected, then click on More in the blue bar, and then choose Download. Note that you can only download a maximum of 500 pictures at a time. When the photos have been downloaded, just transfer them to your Camera folder on your phone via USB. Please consult your phone manufacturer’s help documentation to see how that’s done.
You can also use Google Takeout to get all of your photos: https://www.google.com/settings/takeout, but this will download everything, not just the Auto-backup photos.
► Tip of the Week: Viewing your Auto Backup photos
Several users asked, and various people answered, “How do I find my photos that were backed up by Auto Backup?” Full instructions for all platforms can be found at https://support.google.com/plus/answer/4528877?hl=en but the quick answer when you’re on your computer is go to https://plus.google.com/u/0/photos/search/%23AutoBackup and you’ll see all your Auto Backup photos displayed for you.
Thanks for all of your questions and insights this week. Special thanks to everyone who helped respond to these trending topics and all the other help questions this week. Make sure to check back again next week when George Cohn will help to highlight the best questions and answers on the community.

I got a lot out of this weeks project. I started out thinking I just couldn't "do" macro. I don't have a fancy camera or macro lenses etc. So I tried a variety of things from extreme zooming to buying a magnifying glass with little luck.

Eventually I broke out a ruler and went to manual focus and - voila...
