Hi - any luck on the new diggs ?

Hi - any luck on the new diggs ?
Here's the dress, though we didn't order the choker. I was thinking something pearly with a single string in the back getting (a little) fancier in the front. She doesn't like yellow gold so probably silvery clasp. Some matching earrings (of course)
There should be plenty of time too. 89 days and counting.

  2. As for housing- we're waiting on a response from one place for which confidence is fairly low; another that looked good (if too small) went sideways when I went in this morning to give them money and they informed me that- surprise!- they only allowed two pets, and that was a non-negotiable limit. This after I'd made it really clear at every step of the way that we had three pets and were prepared to put down an extra deposit. I was livid; I'm still pissed.
Basically we're pretty much still on square 1. It's getting harder to stave off panic.

  3. ted kelly I need to ask --  what type of price range/budget do we have to work with? I can make something lovely for $40-50 (I hope) and I can take a stab at creating an heirloom for 250-400 (sterling silver, or white gold, or even platinum, white lotus pearls, etc,)

Also, what  color are her eyes?

  4. I think the 40-50 (or so) would be more to her liking - and seeing as I'll probable be out of work for a while...
her eyes - well, I say golden brownish while she usually says hazel dullish... here is a link with a decent(ish) picture. She has lightened her hair a little since then. This shot was about two weeks after getting her brain tumor removed.
Yep, that's right - she did have something wrong with her head when she was falling for me.

  5. 40-50 is a happy challenge! Thinking pearls with a tigereye focal. If you'd wanted high end, I would have broken into a cold sweat.

Since I'll probably price it out as cost +  $10 (because I said so, that's why) we should be able to do something very nice.

Glad you're marrying someone tough and strong enough to flourish under diversity,

  6. And how tall is she? If you could measure her neck, that would be grand. We look to be built along the same scale, so I'm thinking 18-20 for a collar/choker.

  7. The blue one looks good on her. I said maybe an inch longer or so and she said she likes the way it feels. Five-six and about two hundred.
I agree on the tiger-eye. I used to make jewelry with my dad and her eyes remind me of happy weekends cutting, shaping and polishing "cabs" while he was carving wax for rings and settings.

  11. Yeah- I was pleasantly surprised and VERY relieved when we heard back from the one place. It's the larger one we were really hoping for, too :)

  12. That's great. Now if you can pull off a smooth stress free move...

  13. Yeah, that would have been nice. As it is we're a hair's breadth from being done- just need to make sure all the trash gets hauled off (and I just called to schedule that.)
The cleaning deposit is a lost cause, but c'est la vie, I'll just be glad to be done.
