There was something about unusual jazz instruments, right ? Does some kick-ass kazoo count?

There was something about unusual jazz instruments, right ? Does some kick-ass kazoo count?
A guy by the name of Alabama Vest got the idea for the kazoo in the
1840's in Macon, Georgia. He teamed up with the German clock
manufacturer Thaddeus Von Glegg to construct the first kazoo. It's ancestry can be traced back centuries to the mirlitons from African folk music, through 17th and 18th century opera right up to today.

  1. You know who does great kazoo?  Saffire--The Uppity Blues Women.  I couldn't find a video but have a listen to Mr. Insurance Man and see if you don't agree.  (As a bonus, it's a fantastic song.)  http://www.airplaydirect.com/music/Saffire/
