#wpc2015 Hyperfocal Focus

#wpc2015 Hyperfocal Focus

Yes this was a challenge. I took a lot of shots, mostly outdoors. I read a bunch of articles. There were even a few that were fairly critical, though they all added up to taste over technique issues. Anyway, I set up a little test stand and tried near, far and a few auto, focus shots and this one is (or seems to me anyway) to be focused about 12-14 feet out.
Oh - and my wife is now certain that I'm crazy...

  1. I don't think one should get hung up on the math behind the hyperfocal distance/focus, it is one of the things that it is great to know about and can be useful in certain situations where you want as much of your scene in focus as possible... But just like you sometimes want to have a shallow DOF it is also nice to know that you can go in the opposite direction!

  2. Indeed - and now I not only know I can go in that direction, I know how to go that way.
